Teams Manager for Microsoft Teams helps create different teams, giving them permission of what to access and define their limit. It is a platform that keeps the whole organization at one place. Previously when Work from home started it was a tough task to handle different teams in one place. You have to separately take the feedbacks of the projects etc. Now through this everything is centralized. Assigning tasks and seeing the progress of any project is easy now.

  • There should be a privacy for users chat in a team
  • Every user should not be allowed to create a team, but only Team managers should do this
  • Many channels which are inactive for long time should send notifications to the manager about the inactivity and thus should be deleted if not in use
For different projects in a big organization different teams can be formed and thus their internal tasks assignments can be done there. It is easy to manage, assign tasks to people in a particular project. People or team leads in multiple projects can share different channels thus maintaining different projects. Users should be refrained of creating new teams just for fun purpose etc. to avoid to much chaos.

It helps us to communicate within the organization audio and video calling, screen share facilities to a particular team are most useful features. Its easy to manage owners of team sites along with members and guests.

  • It would be great to receive notifications in Outlook for Shifts and be able to approve/deny requests and schedule changes there while it's synced with the Outlook calendar.
If your team has more than 3 people, you should have someone assigned as the Teams Manager. That way, you're guaranteed to have your channels and team site set up for success. If you are an employee that is only using Teams for quick chats, you and your team might be able to get away with not having a Teams Manager for Microsoft Teams.

Teams Manager is being used across our organization by each department manager. It addresses many business concerns such as approving requested time off (shifts), creating and assigning staff to specific channels so folks can communicate with the proper individuals, and controlling how staff can communicate (using emoji, memes, GIFs, etc).
  • Manage channels - the level of detail of managing what channels are created and how they function is great.
  • Manage users - it's easy to manage owners of team sites, along with members and guests.
  • Analytics - being able to review how each team site and the channel is being used is extremely helpful and can point out areas of weakness or concern.
  • I feel like the Shifts app could be more advanced to sync with Microsoft Outlook. It would be great to receive notifications in Outlook for Shifts and be able to approve/deny requests and schedule changes there while it's synced with the Outlook calendar.
  • It would be nice if the interface allowed further customization such as assigning colors to the separate channels. Some channels within team sites are rather lengthy and it would be great to group them into color groups.
  • Another nice feature would be the option to log in as one of your teammates so you can properly set up their Team account before they log in for the first time.
If your team has more than 3 people, you should have someone assigned as the Teams Manager. That way, you're guaranteed to have your channels and team site set up for success. If you are an employee that is only using Teams for quick chats, you and your team might be able to get away with not having a Teams Manager.

We still use it for our one-off situations, but mostly stick to Teams as it is much more user-friendly and allows better sharing capabilities through virtual meetings. Skype is not as easily customized, so it's a no-brainer to use Microsoft Teams and Team Manager for all of our instant messaging and virtual meeting needs.
